EPL news: Liverpool’s dismal away record bewilders Kenny Dalglish
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has admitted that he is puzzled by his team’s dismal performances away from Anfield.
In the past 13 months, Liverpool have managed only two away victories in the Barclays Premier League. Their atrocious record on the road has been the major contributor to their recent slide into the lower half of the League standings.
It was also a major factor in the dismissals of Rafael Benitez, and then Roy Hodgson from their post as Liverpool boss.
Now, Kenny Dalglish is still looking for his first win since taking over at the helm two weeks ago. The Liverpool in charge and legend has already overseen two away defeats in his three games, and he conceded that he is unaware
why the Reds are performing so poorly in away fixtures.
Speaking on Liverpool’s woeful record on the road, Dalglish said, “It's surprising. The reasons why have yet to be fathomed. We've done bad enough - we lost at Blackpool! But it's up to us. It's up to the players to come together
and try to turn it around as quickly as we can. It's very unlike Liverpool not to have a good away record. Normally it's excellent. There are some things we've got to put right and that's one of them."
Liverpool face Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday, 22 January. The Reds were embarrassed by Wolves earlier in the season, when the latter managed to defeat them at Anfield last month. Many believe that
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 have a point to prove against Mick McCarthy’s side; however, Dalglish is not one of them.
The Liverpool manager says revenge will not be a major motivating factor for his side during Saturday night’s encounter. He said, “"Different things drive different people but winning games is the greatest feeling in the world,
that's the biggest drive. Wolves played very well against us at Anfield and if some people were disappointed with that result and that's what inspires them, then fine. But no matter what happened at Anfield we'd still want to go to Molineux and win the game
- wherever you get the inspiration from is down to the individual."
It remains to be seen whether the Reds can break their away curse or not when they face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 on Saturday.
