EPL round up: Arsenal and Aston Villa
Arsenal
Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has escaped all charges from the Football Association over his apparent burst of anger on referee http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lee-c21860 Mason.
In the Premier League mid-week fixture between Arsenal and Everton, Gunners conceded an early goal before making a comeback to win all three points.
However, the early goal from Everton was not without controversy as striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Laurent-Koscielny-c21742 spilled a back pass to Saha and the former United man managed a cool finish to take
the lead. Following the goal and at half-time, Fabregas unleashed an outburst over the referee’s decision and the Everton manager David Moyes believed that the Arsenal skipper should have been sent off for that.
However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger defended the club captain and stated that it was him and not Fabregas who voiced his opinion to the referee in the tunnel. The referee has made no report of the incident as well and Football Association has therefore
cleared the Spanish midfielder of all charges.
Aston Villa
Aston Villa manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Friedel-c7953 and claimed that the record making shot stopper was the best player on the pitch for Villa.
The American’s appearance for Villa in the Premier League fixture against Manchester United made him the oldest player ever to wear an Aston Villa shirt.
Despite conceding three goals, Friedel managed some pretty impressive saves for a 39-year-old and his heroics in front of goal made the game more interesting. United were the better team on the pitch and all the goals were just unstoppable. Despite losing,
the manager was delighted with the performance of the veteran.
“Brad was our best player in the second-half. He kept us in the game two or three times. He is doing extremely well at the moment and is in good form. If our results have been better, it is because of that,” stated the Villa manager.
Aston Villa need to bounce back from their defeat at Old Trafford in the next Premier League fixture against Fulham, who are playing well and managed a 1-0 win over Newcastle United recently.
Villa need to bounce back as their flirting with the relegation zone has a chance of becoming a love affair if they don’t improve their form.
