EPL round up: Birmingham City, Blackpool and Bolton Wanderers
Birmingham City
Birmingham City defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roger-Johnson-c31524 was delighted to see summer acquisition Nikola Zigic scoring against West Ham United recently. The win was vital for Birmingham’s survival battle, as it catapulted them out of the relegation zone, keeping the Hammers
stuck to the bottom.
“With the results yesterday - just look at the Wolves-Man U game - the league's unreal this year. It was a massive game, a six-pointer, and we came out with a scrappy goal and won the game. We were dying on our feet at the end and the ball kept coming back
but thankfully we got the three points, we nicked a 1-0 and a clean sheet – lovely,” stated the 27-year-old defender.
Birmingham still have to play two fixtures more than the Hammers and Wolverhampton Wanderers and have a good chance of climbing into the top half of the table.
Blackpool
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway was speechless after the way his side lost the 3-2 advantage to Everton. The Toffees managed to thrash the newly promoted side 5-3 at full-time and the manager was disappointed with the result.
“Words fail me really. The character of the lads was outstanding, that was a tough game. We had a bit of luck first half really, we all know that. It should have been a goal for Everton. He blew the whistle far too early. That lifted us going in at half-time,
I must admit,” stated the Blackpool boss.
The manager added that he was very optimistic about his side in the second half but out of nowhere, his side was losing 2-1. However, the Blackpool players showed resiliency and managed to gain the lead with the scores at 3-2.
Holloway admitted to have parked the bus for remainder of the game, but that backfired as the side conceded three quick goals to lose the match 5-3. Holloway was just disappointed how his players did not learn from their mistakes, as this is the second time
in two weeks that his side has blown up their lead, the previous one coming against Manchester United.
Bolton Wanderers
Bolton manager Owen Coyle was delighted with the form and talent of on loan striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 player.
Sturridge is in top form with Bolton scoring twice in two fixtures, most recently in Wanderers’ 2-1 loss to Tottenham at the White Hart Lane. The manager said he has full faith in his coaching staff and himself, and that he can help the 21-year-old just
like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 of Arsenal.
