EPL transfer news: Liverpool set to sign Luis Suarez
Liverpool fans can be now optimistic about the imminent arrival of Uruguayan World Cup star, Luis Suarez. Kenny Dalglish will be hoping to unveil his first signing on his return to club soon.
According to recent reports, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 owner John Henry and his wife Linda Pizzuti were seen having a meeting with Luis Suarez’s agent in London. If they are able to land the Ajax hit man then it will be a signal of intent from Liverpool owners that they
are ready to splash the cash to take the club forward.
Luis Suarez’s agent, Pere Guardiola- brother of Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola- who is also the agent of Liverpool striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707, is reportedly pushing Suarez out of Ajax. The Uruguayan is keen to move to Anfield, thanks to a large Spanish-speaking
contingent at the club.
Ajax manager has come up with contradictory statements recently. Initially he stated that the star striker is likely to leave Amsterdam for a big club and that Ajax is already lining up a replacement.
However, in another statement he revealed that only ‘crazy’ money will be able to lure Luis Suarez away from Ajax.
That crazy amount is believed to be in the region of £27m, but according to reports, Liverpool have made an offer of around £15m plus add-ons of up to £5m. Liverpool believe that this will be sufficient to bring Suarez to Anfield who already has his heart
set for a move away from Ajax.
Suarez could be the marquee signing Liverpool have been crying out since the arrival of Fernando Torres. He is player in the mould of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 and Carlos Tevez. Suarez possesses great touch and pace. He is physically strong and can shoot ferociously
with both feet.
Suarez came to the limelight after he struck an amazing 49 goals in 48 appearances in the 2009-10 season. He carried that form into the World Cup where he proved to be the perfect foil for his skipper Diego Forlan.
The arrival of Suarez will not only ease the goal-scoring burden on Fernando Torres but also allow Liverpool to play with different positions, as the Uruguayan is equally comfortable in the 3-man front line or playing behind a front man, which is likely
to be Fernando Torres.
The two can form lethal partnership that can surely take Liverpool considerably up the table.
