EPL transfer news: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Babel-c31971 all set to leave Liverpool to join
German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim
Liverpool have stated that striker Ryan Babel is all set to leave Anfield. The club has confirmed that they have accepted an offer from German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim. The deal is reported to have been settled for €7 million.
Liverpool’s official website has issued a statement saying, “Liverpool FC this afternoon announced they had accepted a bid from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/TSG-1899-Hoffenheim-c40767 for the transfer of Dutch international Ryan Babel. The Bundesliga club have now
been given permission to discuss personal terms with the player, who has travelled to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904."
Hoffenheim’s owner Dietmar Hopp has welcomed Babel’s arrival at the club and praised the Dutchman saying that he is
exactly the kind of striker the club needs. The German club was in dire need of a striker after the ‘imminent departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chinedu-Obasi-c8927.’
Babel joined Liverpool from Ajax in 2007 and it was speculated that he might be heading back to his former club. Liverpool have been linked with Ajax striker Luis Suarez and Babel was hopeful that the two clubs would be able to
agree to a swap deal.
Just a few hours before the news of his move to Hoffenheim was made public, Babel said, “The transfer of Suarez to Liverpool opens the door for me to go to Ajax. If Liverpool and Ajax whether in combination with Luis can reach
an agreement over me I will surely come to the club. For the chance to play I am willing to settle for far less pay. For a player of my age it is important to be playing week in week out."
Babel was recently fined £10000 by the Football Association (FA) for his comments and the picture he posted on Twitter. Babel had posted a doctored image of referee Howard Webb wearing a Manchester United shirt after Liverpool
were knocked out of the FA Cup by the Red Devils. Webb had awarded an early penalty to United during the match and later issued a red card to Liverpool captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196.
Babel was never able to secure a spot in Liverpool’s starting eleven under both Rafael Benitez and Roy Hodgson. His departure from Anfield after only three matches with new manager Kenny Dalglish hints that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 striker
also failed to impress the new boss.
Babel is now in Germany undergoing a medical to finalize his move to Hoffenheim. His exit from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 will surely further deplete the already weak bench strength of the club.
