ESPN all set to host Winter X Games 15
The wait is finally over. ESPN, the proud host of X Games, have announced the dates for this year’s Winter X Games. This year’s Winter X Games will be starting from 27th January and would be held in Aspen, Colorado. The event would be celebrating its 15th anniversary
in the current year.
Some of the most exciting athletes in action sports would be participating in this year’s competition and compete to win the bronze, silver, and gold medals, and prize money. These athlete would be featured in the day and evening events including FreeSkiing,
SnowBoarding, and SnowMobiling.
Snowboarding Event would exhibit the most sensational riders in a battle for the gold. Legends such as J.P. ‘The Don’ Walker and Jeremy ‘Mack Dawg’ Jones would be among the riders who would be showing off their skills in the snowboard event and hope to emerge
as victorious. Freeskiing is another highlight of the Winter X Games where names such as Peter Olenick and Bobby Brown along with other exciting skiers would go head to head to make it to the top. Brand new tricks would be unleashed for the entertainment of
the fans of freeskiing. Snowmobiling would be a part of the Winter X Games as well. This year snowmobiling would be featuring new events, new riders and all new trick that would leave many fans in awe.
In order to enhance the experience of the attending fans and make their trip interactive, the Interactive X Fest Village would be set up where the fans would be given an opportunity to get their favourite athlete’s autographs. The fans would also be able
to collect souvenirs and watch demos of the athletes participating in the competition.
Another incentive for the fans present at X Games would be the Snowskate Park. Snowstake Park would provide real-time interaction for all spectators. A schedule would be posted that would allow the fans to enter the park in order to exhibit their skills.
The action would not be limited to sports. Famous bands and DJs would be making an appearance to make the atmosphere even more enjoyable. New-and-upcoming bands searching for some serious exposures would be performing as well. The intention would be to ensure
an electrified air with not a dull moment.
The last year’s Winter X Games were held in Aspen, Colorado as well. It was considered a big success where a record attendance of 84100 spectators was seen over the period of four days. Over 200 world-class athletes participated in the event and record performances
were seen by the spectators both present and those following the games via television.
It became the ESPN’s highest-rated and most viewed. 43 million viewers tuned in to ESPN 1 and ESPN 2 to follow the sporting event. The mesmerizing moments of previous years’ include the four-peat in Woman Skier X by Ophelia David, four-peat in Snowmobile
SnoCross by Tucket Hibbert, five-peat in in Men’s SnowBoarder X by Nate Holland, and three-peat in Men’s SnowBoarder X SuperPipe by Shaun White.
ESPN would give 24-hour coverage to this mega event from its beginning to its end so that those who won’t be able to make it to the sporting event do not miss out on the live action. The sporting event would be broadcasted on both ESPN 1 and ESPN 2 so make
sure you get your hands on the schedule quickly as the Winter X Games 15 are starting from this Thursday.
