ESPN reveals the first round of athletes invited to X Games 2012
ESPN has revealed the list of athletes who have been sent an invitation to X Games that is scheduled to go down in Los Angeles, California, from June 28 - July 31.
The top athletes from around the globe will be converging to Los Angeles to compete for the coveted gold medal in front of a huge crowd. The mega-event of extreme sports is the considered to be one of the biggest stages of action sports and an ideal stage
for the athletes to show off their skills to the large audience.
The first wave of athletes invited to the X Games 2012 includes America’s Brian Deegan. The Nevada-based 11-time X Games medallist and freestyle motocross (FMX) superstar put on a superb performance in the 2011 X Games RallyCross event to claim gold medal.
He will be looking for yet another year of success to retain his spot on the podium.
American skateboard sensation Nyjah Huston will also be looking to continue his domination in the Skateboard Street contest. With three X Games medals to his name already, the Californian rider will be looking for a successful title defence. All eyes will
be on the 2011 Street League gold medallist as he prepares himself to take on the best riders from around the globe to retain his throne.
America’s professional female skateboarder Marisa Dal Santo will also be hoping to continue her excellent record at the X Games. The three-time X Games gold medallist and defending X Games Skateboard Street champion will definitely be looking to assert her
domination over her rivals and add another gold medal to her collection.
Venezuela’s Daniel Dhers has also been invited to the latest edition of the ESPN-hosted mega-event of action sports to defending his BMX Freestyle Park gold medal. He already has four X Games gold medals to his name, two of which came in the last two years.
The Caracas-based rider is most likely to return to take a shot at a three-peat.
A number of other world renowned skateboarders, freestyle motocross riders, BMX riders and rallycross racers have already been sent an invite to the X Games, which will be celebrating its 10 years of action in Los Angeles.
