ESPNcricinfo IPL Fantasy League guide: Hyderabad Sunrisers vs Kings XI Punjab
The Indian Premiere League (IPL) action will continue today, i.e. April 19, 2013, with Hyderabad Sunrisers taking on Kings XI Punjab at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
On first glance, neither of the two teams comes off as a favourite, as both the sides seem to be struggling with one department or another. Interestingly, it is the batting that has resulted in the downfall of the two teams on a number of occasions.
However, Hyderabad Sunrisers have managed to climb close to the top of the points table, sitting at a joint-second position, an impressive and somewhat shocking feat considering their performance in the last season of IPL. They may have failed with the bat,
but the bowlers, being coached by the legendary fast bowler Waqar Younis from Pakistan, have proved to be a handful and managed to defend below-par scores a number of times already.
Kings XI Punjab, however, have not been able to put up a similar fight and therefore find themselves sitting near the bottom-end of the points table.
For the IPL Fantasy League enthusiasts, today will prove to be a difficult day to make the right choices, as both the teams have shown a great deal of inconsistency and the last thing you would want is to put a player in your team, only to find him getting
thrashed around the park or getting out at an ordinary score.
There are a few players, however, which may prove valuable. Thisara Perera, the Hyderabad Sunrisers all-rounder, is one of the best bets for today’s match, along with fellow team-mate Amit Mishra, who got a hat-trick in the previous match to snatch victory
from under Pune Warriors’ nose. Both the players are likely to bring you points, especially Mishra, who will be getting a chance to bowl on a spinner-friendly track. Quickie Dale Steyn can also prove to be a great pick for today’s match.
David Hussey and Azhar Mahmood from Kings XI Punjab can also prove to be a good choice for today’s match, as both of them have been performing consistently, one with the bat while the other with the bowl.
