  1. The difference between EST and MST or EDT and MDT is 2 hours.


  2. EST, means Eastern seaboard time.  After that, you get central time.  Then mountain time.  After this comes Pacific time.

    These are the timezones for the "lower 48" states in the US.  EST is 5hrs behind GMT.  Central is 6 behind, mountain 7, and Pacific 8.

    Alaska and hawaii have their own timezones, but I'm not sure about these.
