EU pet passport, can it be also used instead of a Health certificate in the USA?

Can an EU Pet Passport (blue) be used instead of a health certificate when entering the USA? We are traveling from Europe with 2 cats and have a direct flight into New York-JFK airport.. Will the EU Pet Passport be enough or do we need an additional health certificate?

The EU pet Passports have the proper vaccinations and microchip information they are up to date with the standards of the EU.

ANy ideas or experience with JFK and cats?

The site below has all requirements for bringing pets into the U.S.  It also has contact ifo if you have specific questions.  A health certificate is not required, but you should check with your airline to see what their requirements are.

I think you will only be able to take animals with you if you are staying permanently !
