EVENTS IN IRAN that involve PERSECUTION?

Can you help me find an event in history in Iran that ties into somebody or a group of people being persecuted for what they believed it?

I am doing this powerpoint about this book I read.. 'Life as a Tratior' but I have to find some sort of event that ties in..

This women got sent to Evin Prison because she wanted something better in Iran and tried to fight for it..

Please help me out. :)
