Having trouble deciding. The 9800GTX+ will actually be cheaper than the ati 4850 because if i go the 4850 way then i will definably go with the after market cooler that will make the 4850 a little more than the 9800GTX+ . My other choice is an overclocked and dual slot 9800GT akimbo that has good cooling, and not to mention its the cheapest option by 30$.

Here are all the 2 cards:

EVGA 9800GT 512MB Akimbo (Dual slot cooling and overclocked)

ATI 4850

  1. if you get the 9800gtx get it off new egg u can get it for like 170ish or 180ish after rebate

  2. You obviously know the 4850 is the best card in the bunch. You also know that it runs hot.

What you probably don't know is that it was made to run hot. It has a deep temp threshold.

But if you wanted it to run cooler anyway, an aftermarket cooler is not necessary. Stock fan speeds if I remember correctly are ~13% of capable speed.

So all you have to do is increase the speed to say 60-70% and your temp will from 80C to ~60's C.

    Get the 4850.
