  1. Solid--atoms are intact, they rarely move, they can be formed into shapes

Liquid--atoms are loosely intact, they are shapeless

    Gas--atoms very distributed

Plasma--hot ionized gas made up of ions and electrons that is found in the Sun, stars, and fusion reactors

  2. There are 3 basic states of matter: Solid, Liquid and Gas. However, if you want to be more advanced then there is a fourth state of matter: Plasma. Let's explain each one.

Solid: This is the most stable state of matter. In a solid, all the particles are held together by intermolecular bonds and are held rigidly in fixed positions but vibrate randomly in their positions. This state takes the least amount of heat energy to form. Solids have both fixed shapes because of the rigid molecular bonds and volumes due to there being no space between each particle. A good analogy would be a classroom: The students are allowed to move freely in their seat but cannot move from their seated positions.

Liquid: In a liquid, There is enough heat energy for the particles to break free of their bonds, but are still held loosely together by intermolecular forces. The particles may slide and roll over one another but may not drift away from each other. Liquids have no definite shape due to the particles being freely able to roll and slide over each other but a fixed volume since there is no gap between each atom. A good analogy would be a school canteen where the students can run about and move freely but must stay within the school grounds

Gas: In a gas, the particles are most energetic and are spread far from each other and can freely go wherever they want. There are no bonds holding them together. This is why gases have no definite shape because the particles can freely go wherever and no definite volume because since there are such large gaps between particles, they can be squeezed closer together and this is called compression. A good analogy would be going-home-time at school as the students leave school and spread out all over town back to their homes wherever they are.

Plasma: This is the most energetic state of matter and in this state the bonds within the particles actually break apart and are ionized. In this state. Because the particles are ionized plasma is easily affected by electromagnetic fields and are excellent conductors of electricity. It usually takes the form of gas-like clouds. I cannot currently think of an analogy.

  3. 3 types of matter ,they are

    1) solid - which have definite shape, size and weight and the molecules are non motileand closely packed. eg: stone

    2) liquid - which takes shape of the container and it has definite volume . the molecules are motile amd not closely packed. eg:milk , water

3)gas - which dont have shape size and weight and the molecules are very motile . eg: carbon dioxide

  4. there are three states of matter. solid state, liquid state, and gaseous state. In solid state molecules r bond very closely,in liquid state molecules r bond with some distance and in gaseous state the molecules are bond  with long distance. so in solid state collisons are takes place between d molecules very easily.

  5. i guess you can add bose einstein condensate to it as well.

A Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC) is a state of matter of bosons confined in an external potential and cooled to temperatures very near to absolute zero (0 K, −273.15 °C, or −459 °F ). Under such supercooled conditions, a large fraction of the atoms collapse into the lowest quantum state of the external potential, at which point quantum effects become apparent on a macroscopic scale.

  6. I know more states of matter:

solid= has definite shape, mass and volume.

liquid= no definite shape but will have when contained, has mass and volume.

gas= no shape but it has when contained, has volume and mass.

plasma= hot temperature only, ionized, has mass but no shape.

dark matter= found in space, has mass, volume, shape but iregularly.

anti matter= anti matters are obtained only in special labs. they can cause major destruction. highly destructible.

Liquid Crystals= in solid state but moves like a liquid(amazing right!)

    colorful and reflects light.

----These are the states of matter I know. i haven't heard of more. =) I hope i have give you infos. =)
