I have an extreme fear of public speaking. I have tried hypnosis, beta blockers, etc., none work for me. I need something way stronger. What would that be and which doctor do I need to go to to get it?

  1. Well, if you have extreme fear of public speaking, probably you have an anxiety disorder such as social phobia, so my advice is going to therapy, a cognitive-behavioral therapy would be quite good in your case and  if you need any drugs, it should be given by a professional doctor or a psychiatrist . Good luck

  2. Have you tried psychological counseling?  Maybe your fear is stemming from a childhood incident which hasn't been resolved.  Sorry the hypnosis didn't work, as that too is a great tool to deal with fears and phobias.  You may also try a professional public speaking coach who can work with you and give you some techniques to help cope with the anxiety.

You know, you might also consider asking yourself how you're benefiting from your fear?  Sometimes our habits and fears actually provide us a benefit that we don't want to easily relinquish.
