i went to the doctor because my eye was bothering me (irritating, gritty feeling, like there was sand in it), and the doctor said it was irritated and i should not wear my contacts for a couple of days. but i don't own a pair of glasses with an accurate prescription, my pair is from 6 years ago or so! how bad do you think it is to wear my contacts for one or two of the days? will it hurt my eye PERMANENTLY??

even if i order a new pair it won't come for a while.

  1. If a doctor says don't wear contacts, don't wear contacts!

  2. Blackbird,

You should ALWAYS have a back-up set of glasses for just such occasions.  Going without any correction will not hurt your eyes or make them worse, but you just won't see!

If you wear your contacts with irritated eyes when you've been told not to by your doctor, your eyes will not heal properly and you may even cause permanent damage to your corneas.  Don't do it.

  3. if the Doctor told you to not wear the contacts DONT! it could cause permanent eye damage. just wear your old pair for a couple of days then go back to wearing contacts when your eye gets better.

  4. no just remember your muscles in your eyes need a few minutes to adjust
