  1. No advice. You need 20/20 vision with OR without CORRECTIVE LENSES. (ex. glasses) Your fine. No worries.

  2. A few years ago you wouldnt have been able to fly in the military, but the regulations recently changed and now the requirement is 20/20 vision with correction. Contact lenses arn't allowed but for fighter pilots they make custom helmets to hold your glasses in place. The military may accept laser eye surgery but you should research that more as I believe it has to be done a certain way. You must also have frequent eye exams to maintain 20/20 vision with your correctional lenses. As for being a private or commercial pilot, you should check the F.A.R.'s for specifics. I think the rules are pretty loose for that and if you don't qualify, the FAA Administrator can make an exeption for you.

  3. I guess you will have to get contacts. I don't think that you can wear glasses underneath the poliet goggles.

Don't worry, contacts are very easy to get adjusted to and I hope you become a world famous poliet!

    Lots of Luck!

  4. Hey you can check out this site....

    http://www.improvingmyeyesight.com/rebui...

The site offers a program of eye exercises to improve your vision. Actually, the creator of the program, Orlin Sorensen, had a very similar situation like you... he wanted to be a pilot, but didn't have 20/20 vision. You can read his story on the site.

  5. While I don't think the military is too keen on people with poor eye sight for their pilots, I know that the FAA is less strict.  My brother, who wears glasses for driving, is an instructor at one of the nation's top flight schools and is working towards having enough commercial hours.

  6. sorry but you're out of luck.

    maybe with laser eye surgery?

by the way, you get to be a commercial pilot by being a pilot in the military.  although i'd go with navy or air force, not army.

  7. I think your bad eyesight will disqualify you.  Sorry, but good eyesight is very important in a pilot.  Even with corrective lenses, you are a risk to those flying with you.

  8. The Federal Aviation Administration's guide for Medical examiners states that in order to get a First Class medical certificate, you should be able to see 20/20 or better in each eye separately, with or without correction for distant vision, and 20/40 or better in each eye separately (Snellen equivalent), with or without correction, as measured at 16 inches for near vision.

However, the individual airlines may have additional requirements in their hiring.

    Good Luck!

  9. You gotta fake at least 20/20 or you can't do it man =(

  10. as long as it's correct to 20/20 vision your fine.

  11. As many have said you need to have 20/20 corrected vision... the worse thing that will happen is you will get a limitation on your certificate or medical (i cannot remember which atm) that you need to wear the glasses at all times when flying.

  12. yes you can.  you can have a promising career piloting.  Just not in military  they are the 2020 people.

Why would you want to give your life for our comunist govt we have today anyways.  I support the troops and all but I just hate that they are losing lives for our corrupt govt,

  13. Lasik Eye Surgery.
