Each Way Bets Horse Racing?

I am going to start an "each way double" and "each way single" horse racing bets, but was wondering if there's anything that might help me with these horse racing bets?

The thing with each way doubles is, when one lets you down. Used to do them but kept getting a big priced winner or placed horse and the other finishing out of the frame, it can be really annoying.

You can pick up some nice placed horses in handicaps by going for those in the low weights. Look for horses that,

are previous distance or course and distance winners
were in the first 8 places last race and have not won any of previous 4 races
odds of 8/1 or higher
