well I'm in girl scouts. girl scout do the gold award. i think its the equivalent of the eagle project. for the gold award we have to do like 65 hours of a project to help the community. my project is having younger children go to the firehouse, get a tour, learn fire safety and learn about the jobs of being a firefighter.

my suggestion would be to think about what you like doing and possible future careers. then when you have a list of like 2 or 3 things you like doing. think of like 2 or 3 things for each one( like needs in the community) and then look at the requirements of the eagle project. see which one fits the requirements best. and then do that project best.

if you pick a project just because you think it will be easy, it will have less of a meaning. you should be something that you like so you will enjoy it and it will have a meaning to you.

For my brother's eagle project he gathered volunteers to spread wood chips on the trails at a local nature center and also built owl houses and placed them throughout the nature center. Others built bridges across the creek running through the nature center. Getting off the nature topic... Other scouts in my brothers troop did activities at Cedar Rapids' Brucemore Mansion like building retaining walls and making various repairs on the grounds. Just pick the first place that pops into your head when you think of volunteering and figure out something to do that would help that place.
