Eagles’ Marty Mornhinweg gives stern response to Cardinals’ Kelvin Kolb – NFL News
Former member of Philadelphia Eagles Kevin Kolb who is now a quarterback for Arizona Cardinals came in the line of fire on Thursday when Eagles’ offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg lambasted him saying that the injured quarterback
was giving too much credit to himself for Cardinals’ victory against Eagles in the week 10 game of the National Football League current season.
A day earlier, Kolb, who has missed the last two games due to a turf toe injury, had said that he was yelling from the sidelines during the game advising his teammates by judging the calls of Eagles’ coach.
Kolb said that during the two-minute drill, he was standing at the sideline while Eagles’ coach was giving signals to his team. From the corner the injured quarterback shouted, “Hey it’s a go ball, hey he’s running a screen, hey
he’s running a slant.”
He went on to say that there was nothing wrong in informing the team members about the game-play of the opponents. He also said that it is a common practice among players to take experience from one franchise to another as they
make their career moves.
However, Mornhinweg was clearly not happy with Kolb’s attitude. He maintained that he had seen the film and said that the moves of his team were covered and nobody could have guessed them. He also said that former Eagles’ member
was overrating himself.
“I think that sort of stuff is sort of overrated. That's overblown quite a little bit, and I did go back through it. You know where you have to be careful is where a team locks you down and doesn't say anything. That's where you
have to be careful with a guy that talks. I did check that. There was absolutely no effect,” Mornhinweg said on Thursday.
Eagles drafted Kolb in the 2007 NFL Draft. He was traded to Cardinals in July 2011. Before the game against Eagles, Kolb was desperate to recover and wanted to play against his former team. He had said about recovering from injury
that he was observing a ‘dramatic improvement’. However, he was not hundred per cent fit and could not take the field.
