Eagles Michael Vick out, Kevin Kolb in?

Andy Reid, head coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, would not confirm nor deny reports that Kevin Kolb will be the starting quarterback for their last game of the season against the Dallas Cowboys. The four year quarterback took all of the snaps in practice
on Friday, while star quarterback Michael Vick continued to sit out to rest his injured leg.
An insider confirmed on Thursday that Kolb is listed to start on Sunday with Reid saying on Friday that “it would obviously be a stretch” for Vick to start, or play at all, on Sunday.
Vick is listed as questionable on Philly’s official injury report, but there is no point in Vick playing on Sunday anyways.
The Eagles have already secured the number three seed in the playoffs and to play Vick would just put him at the risk of sustaining another injury that might end his season.
They had a shot at a bye in the first round of the playoffs, but were upset on Tuesday after losing to the Minnesota Vikings. Their postseason will begin next week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants, or Green Bay Packers, depending on the
outcome of Week 17 of the regular season.
Kolb had been starter at the beginning of the season but after a concussion in the first game and Vick’s incredible rise again to stardom, he has been bumped down to second string quarterback.
"Kevin's handled (the situation) with a lot of class," Reid posted on the Eagles’ official website. "Obviously he wants to be out there ... but thank goodness that he and Michael have the relationship they have and they they're wired like they are."
Vick has come out as a candidate for league MVP during his second season in Philly, having thrown only six interceptions, coupled with 3,018 passing yards, 676 rushing yards, and 21 touchdowns. He has also been selected to be the starting quarterback for
the NFC team in the Pro Bowl, to take place on January 30th at the Aloha Stadium.
Reid has said that Vick has nothing else on his mind but to get healthy and play again.
"He's been in with (trainer) Rick (Burkholder) and getting everything done that needs to be done," the coach said.
Vick also missed three games with a rib injury in October. Both of these injuries stemmed from running plays. However, Reid says that he is not worried by Vick scrambling too much and putting himself at risk.
"This did happen on a run, (but) this was a little different," Reid said. "This wasn't a big hit or any of that. Actually, it was just somebody's elbow caught him ... between the slide pad and the knee pad, so kind of a freak deal."
Even if Vick cannot play next week against the ‘Boys, he will likely try and recover as quickly as possible for the first round of the playoffs.
