Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick misses practice on 2nd straight day – NFL News
Philadelphia Eagles’ quarterback Michael Vick did not take part in practice session on Thursday to miss the second straight day of practice, strengthening the doubts on his participation in the week 11 game of the National Football
League current season against New York Giants.
Vick hurt his ribs in the week 10 game against Arizona Cardinals. Owing to the injury, he did not take part in the first practice session of the week on Wednesday. As he missed the session on Thursday, there are speculations that
he might miss the game this weekend.
Vick’s absence against Giants might badly hurt his team that is ranked third in the National Football Conference East division with six defeats and three victories.
Earlier, Eagles’ coach Andy Reid refrained from telling whether Vick would be available on Sunday saying that final decision would be made later.
Vick, 31, started his professional player for Arizona Cardinal and became a member of Eagles in the year 2009. This season, he has played nine games recording 11 interceptions and 11 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Giants still consider Vick a threat and are not ready to believe that he will not play the game.
When Vick missed the practice session on Wednesday, Giants’ coach Tom Coughlin remarked that he did not think the player is going to miss the match despite his absence from the practice.
“I am not going to believe that Michael Vick won’t play until I see him not jog out there,” Giants coach said.
Vince Young is expected to replace Vick in the Sunday’s game if the latter remains injured. However, Giants are going to prepare for the match assuming that Vick will be the starter.
“We haven’t seen much of Vince Young so we are going to prepare as if Vick is a starter and in my eyes he is going to be there come Sunday,” Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle said. “It’s a really tough game up ahead. If he finished the
game out last week with broken ribs, why not go play this week. That's the way I look at, so we are going to be prepared either way,” Rolle said.
