Eagles’ quarterback Vince Young ready to replace injured Michael Vick – NFL News
As fears continue to grow that Philadelphia Eagles might miss their quarterback Michael Vick who did not practise for the second straight day on Thursday, backup quarterback Vince Young is ready to serve as replacement and lead
his team to victory against New York Giants in the week 11 game of the National Football League current season.
Vick has his ribs injured during the week 10 game against Cardinals. He played most part of that game, but did not show up on the practice on Wednesday and Thursday.
However, Eagles’ coach Andy Reid did not spill the beans and no official word Vick’s appearance in this weekend’s match has come out.
It is widely speculated that if Vick misses the game, backup quarterback Vince Young will serve as his replacement. Young has said that if a chance is given to him, he will prove himself and do everything he can to ensure victory
for his team.
"I'm definitely happy, definitely happy to be playing. But at the same time, it's not about me. It's all about the team,” Young said.
Young joined Eagles in the year 2011, and has played only two games for the franchise this season having one interception to his credit. He’s excited about his chances in the Sunday’s matchup, but is keeping his finger crossed
as the final line-up is yet to be decided.
Meanwhile, Giants’ camp is not ready to believe that Vick will miss the match and preparing for the encounter against Eagles assuming that Vick will start the game. Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle has said that no matter who makes
it to the final Eagles’ line-up, his side to going to be prepared for both.
“We haven’t seen much of Vince Young so we are going to prepare as if Vick is a starter and in my eyes he is going to be there come Sunday,” Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle said. “It’s a really tough game up ahead. If he finished the
game out last week with broken ribs, why not go play this week,” Rolle said.
Eagles have lost six out of their nine games this season and are ranked third in the National Football Conference East division.
