Ear Cartilage help?! (involves swimming)?

I swim regularly 4 days a week but this August i get the month off so i'm thinking of getting my 2nd earlobe (no question) and a ear cartilage this august, but i've been reading it takes more then a month to heal, is this true? and if it's not healed in time is swimming ok to swim with? like for the health or clean ness idk... hhaha thanks

  1. Ear cartilage should take 6-8 weeks to fully heal, but the recommended time to avoid swimming depends upon the piercing and how well it heals. If you get it done in a respectable place with a needle NOT a gun (they're very dangerous for cartilage piercings as the cartilege can shatter) and clean it religiously with saline solution (especially after swimming), it should be fine after a month - I went on holiday a couple of weeks after getting mine done and it was okay. Also it would help to take zinc tablets; they promote healing with piercings.
