I am 13 and got my ears pierced nearly 2 weeks ago.

They said leave them in for 6 weeks for them to heal so you can change your earrings e.t.c....

I took 1 out the other day and put it back in but when we go back to school in a week i dont want to leave them in for pe... would it be safe to take them out during pe as they have only been done 3 weeks ago?

Thanks xx

  1. well not really ...

if they are studs then school cant tell you to take them out ...

if they are hoops then they can

schools just being annoying an i wouldn't take them out because your ears could heal up during the time the ear rings are out [[its possible within an hour]] or when you go to put them back in it will be really painful especially as they are your 1st holes ... but if you have to take them out you can get clear ones ... known as retainers and no one can see them that much ... they work just as well

    good luck

  2. Hi =]

I was eleven when I got mine done last December and the teachers at my school have no problem with small studs in for P.E.

If it's the teachers that are saying to take them out explain to them that you only just got them pierced or tape them over with medical tape. Don't take them out! They'll heal over in no time, and then you'll have to get them pierced again. It's not too dangerous if you have small studs in and you should be fine.

  3. If you leave your piercing out more than 5mins it will close up and you wont beable to put it back in,this is the reason they say weeks not 3,

  4. Just keep them in.

  5. No it would be best to leave them in at all times.

I don't see why leaving them in for PE would be a problem. They're just posts its not like they're hoops or something.

The thing is if your taking out your earrings all the time, then your germy hands (no offense) are touching a freshly pierced hole, which could lead to a serious infection, so just leave them in and keep on cleaning them

  6. your skin is still healing, if you keep on taking the piercing out, the skin will become infected. You could always put band-aids over your ears when you have PE.

  7. Why do you have to take them out for PE is it against school rules? it is best to leave them in for the six weeks or else your ears could close over and its very hard to get the earrings back in again

  8. When I used to go to school we were allowed to cover new piercings with plasters in PE and have a parental note. I wouldnt disturb healing piercings, you could get an infection or they might heal over and it will make them sore trying to put the stud back in.

  9. dont take them out yet.  part of the problem is they can close really fast when they are newly pierced.  i hate to say it but if your gym teache is really insistant you may have to use the old plasters over them for a couple of weeks.

  10. just wear stud earrings and you can keep them in for p.e.

i know what you mean, at my school we're not allowed to wear earrings at p.e. but we can wear studs

  11. Yes, it is probablysafe. Just make sure not to get hit in the head with a ball or something and wear little earings like the ones they gave you.

  12. You probably shouldn't take them out. By taking them out, that allows bacteria to easily enter the hole that is still healing and can cause an infection. And that's no fun. If they're just studs, they're fine to leave in for PE. Just keep them in and keep taking care of them with piercing cleaner.

  13. I really wouldn't advise it. they can become infected really easily and that really hurts. Also, when you take them out, your body will start the healing process, and you may find it very difficult to get them back in, even after just half an hour. for PE, put a really small skin coloured plaster over each each earring to protect them.
