i got my first piercing on my ears

done at claire's and i was supposed to take the ear ring out after 6 weeks

i took it ou this morning and replaced it with some pearls then 10 minits ago the earing came out and i got this lump in my ear.

I was so scared thinking it was the earing when i found the earing on the floor. the hole almost closed but i managed to put the original ear-ring back in .there was a little blood. but i cleaned the ear with a after care solution i got from claire's, WHAT DO I DO?? scared =S. x

  1. The lump is probably hard swelling. I suggest washing off the earring you got it pierced with and leaving that in for another 2 weeks. Stop cleaning it with the Claire's after solution, all that is is watered down hydrogen peroxide which causes more damage to open wounds. Try soaking it in a sea salt solution 2-3 times a day for 5-15 minutes (1/8-1/4 tsp non iodized sea salt dissolved in 8 oz distilled or bottled water)

  2. keep cleaning it a couple of times a day, and turn it round often, so it doesn't all gunk up. leave it in for a few weeks, don't be tempted to take it out again

  3. If I were you I'd take those studs out and let them close up. I know that's not what you want to hear, but piercing studs are not good for piercings and neither is being pierced by a gun.  A piercing stud and gun force the skin to move out of the way, jamming the piercing stud into your lobe. Guns are also known not be very sterile. A piercing needle removes a small hole so the jewelery has somewhere to go. Also if you go to a professional piercer to piercer your ears you can ask for hoops which are easier to heal because the infectious puss and whatnot coming from the piercing are transferred down the ring and a lot easier to clean away.

People that have their ears pierced with a gun are more apt to get infections later down the piercings life, because it is hard for your skin to heal properly back into place.

  4. clean your ear, and if the lump is hard its just a bit of lard (fat) it should squeeze out but don't hurt yourself trying to do it.

  5. That ear care solution doesn't really do much. Try cleaning it with 8 ounces of warm distilled or bottled water mixed with 1/4 tsp of sea salt. It's probably an abscess, which is what happened with my cartilage piercing. It's basically just a pus bubble. (Gross, I know). But just try cleaning it with that. And make sure your pearl earrings are either nickel free or 14K gold, or something that isn't supposed to cause reactions. You could be allergic to the type of metal that those earrings are made of.  You'll be okay sweetie.

  6. When did u get the peircing hun?

You shouldd leave the earing you have in for over 6 weeks because wen i got a seond peircing on my ear the whole closed up after and i had it in for 6 weeks.Just keep it clean with the solution && the lump is normal so don't worryy :)

    Good Luckk x

  7. just leave the earrings in for a couple weeks until the lump goes away. pour the solution around ur ear evryday and it should go away
