Question:

Ear Piercing Problem...?

by  |  earlier

I recently (one or two weeks ago) pierced my ears for the second time (double piercing). They are now swelled, hurt, and periodically my earring gets stuck. I pulled them out so I could clean the gunk of the earring itself, and got the puss I could out of the hole itself. I do not remember what I did to make this stop when I got the first piercing. I was very prone to get infections in my first piercing and assume this will be about the same. Any ideas?

  1. Make sure you clean it everyday.

When I was younger I got really bad ear infections.

They almost had to surgically remove my earring once.

Maybe try a different kind of earring.

    I'm wearing titanium right now.

It's one of the most hypo-allergenic materials.

I also had swelling about a week after I got them pierced..

It was only in one ear though.

I took my earring out and there was a little hair wrapped around the post.

I took it off and my swelling went right down.

  2. I had a similar problem when I got my ears re-pierced.

I had keloid tissue around the piercing, which id swollen skin around the piercing that is infected and p***y.

I used sea-salt scrub and anti-bacterial soap to clean it out.

The infection eventually went away, but you have to be really diligent about cleaning it.

Also, try your best not to take the actually earring out. Messing with the piercing can just make it more irritated, and the germs on your hands can spread onto the jewelry and make their way back into your ear.

    hope this helped. ^^

  3. it's all good cleaning it, but if the metal used to pierce you ears is ncikel, or contains any nickel, the infection won't go until you completely remove the stud. you may just be having a nickel reaction. :\ it seems strange you have an infection in both you see

get it re-pierced after your ears have healed properly with titanium - the only metal no one is allergic to.

    xx
