Question:

Ear Piering Infection?

Okay, so not too long ago, I got my ears triple pierced at Claire's, (I know, not the best place in the world, but still) and recently, there's been a small ball forming in the back of my earlobe where the third hole is at.

The ball is very tough and it feels as if something is inside my earlobe when I touch it. Does anyone know what that is? Or has anyone else had that problem?

  1. apply warm oil or it is better to apply machine oil because i had same problem but after apply machine oil now it is ok.

  2. Its sounds like just a scab, i got one for a couple of my peircings, but as long as it isnt red and theres no swelling it is not infected, just be sure to keep it clean and not pick at it!

  3. yep infection. get sea salt (not table salt) and mix it with warm water, use this to clean it twice a day. this should get rid of your infection. I had one like that in my upper ear when i had a industrial

  4. take out the ear ring.  Squeeze really hard.  A bunch of puss will probably come out.  I had this happen.  Let it heal up and get it re-pierced in like a year or just let it heal.  If not you could end up with one of those huge coliflower ears.

  5. It's not infected. If it were infected it'd be very painful, swollen, red, hot to the touch and oozing a lovely yellow/green pus. It's called hypertropic scarring and it's quite common. Chamomile tea soaks work wonders. After the tea bag is cool enough that it won't hurt, stick it on the bump for 10 min. twice a day and it should clear up within a few weeks.

I also highly recommend going to an actual piercing shop to remove that horrible c**p they call jewelry for some actual jewelry. High quality jewelry along with the proper size measured just for you will heal much faster than what you have now. And if you haven't already, throw that bottle of "solution" away! It does absolutely nothing when it comes to actually cleaning, stick with sea salt soaks.

  6. I had an infection similar to that years ago.  It swelled up and felt really hot.  I had to remove the earring and go to a clinic to get antibiotics.  I suggest you do the same....you shouldn't have a ball or lump on your ear....and you probably shouldn't have had three piercings done at once.

  7. You have scaring from the piercing and that ball in the skin that formed from the scaring.

  8. sounds like scarring from the piercing - that is what happens when you use those locking, thick piercing studs.
