I've heard that you can go to "0"...but is that true? seems very large to be able to shrink back again. Also - any idea how long it takes to go back?

Cheers

  1. it doesnt go back "to the point of NO RETURN"! ive seen some very larg holes pretty gross!

  2. About 10mm is the biggest  it can go to, where it will compeatly heal back over.

The time in which it takes to shrink varies from person to person

  3. yup you can go to about 8mm which is 0(i think) and it will close up but above that it wont properly,

and i went up to 8 before and it closed up in less than a week.

  4. 10mm (:

someone at work had it done and she said you can go to 10mm

  5. Depends on the person. It's generally accepted that 8mm (0g) is the point of no return, but it depends how quickly you stretched and how elastic your lobes are. If you stretch fast and tear your ears, get blow outs etc, there's a lot of scar tissue built up so they are less likely to shrink back down. When both my lobes were at 7mm (1g) I got really ill and had to take one out because it decided to blow out (this was not due to bad stretching). That has since shrunk right down and the other one is now at 8mm.

There was an experience on BME about a girl who had big lobes, over an inch if I remember rightly, who got flu and her ears shrank down to nothing. It can happen. Unfortunately I can't find the article.

  6. the point of no return is a myth; it all depends on one's own skin elasticity. but i would say that generally it will be harder for your ears to shrink after 2-0 gauge

the smaller sizes are like nothing lol, no one gets stuck at a 4 or something if thats the highest they go up to.

again, the amount of time it takes varies as well. if i take my 0s out for an hour i ahve to struggle to get them back in.

    it all just depends (:

  7. they say 10mm.

    - although i used to have 2 tunnels in both ears- the second ones were at 10mm then i took them out, they've been out for 2 years now and i can still get 5-6 mm plugs in them if i like-

Also they didn't close back to a small hole- instead they look like slits in my ear

  8. all piercers I have talk to said that any higher then a 0g will not close up. But i've also read that a 2g will only go to a 6g or 8g. But I don't know about that. I wouldn't go any higher then a 0g if you want it to be normal again.

  9. i think 00 is the point of no return i had a friend who's BF had 00's and it took like 2 years to grow back, but alot of times they dont grow back and you have to get surgery

  10. It differs for everyone. I'd say to be on the safe side, 8mm is probably your limit. If you stretch slowly there's more of a chance of them returning to normal size. As for closing up times, it differs for everyone as well. It could take a few days, it could take a few months.

  11. Ear........ is this a joke???  I have no idea what you are on about or why you would want to stretch your ear?

  12. Every ones skin is different I'm at 10mm at the minute and i don't feel it will go back which is fine by me! Just make sure you think about it and do lots of research in to it. I did mine myself it took about a year. I already had a normal piercing and i put weighted rings in and left them for a few weeks at a time before putting thicker and heavier ones in. If you don't feel you want to do it yourself then obviously don't go and talk to a piercer!
