  1. No, but if they lay still you can light a medium sized room.

But seriously, couldnt it have something to do with the warm of the candle.

That alone could soften up junk inside Im guessing. Nothing to do with pulling out evil spirits which is the real reason why it was classically used.

  2. Ear candling does work. You can purchase the candlers at most any Heath Food/Works store. You simply slide it into you ear and burn the top. You should preferebly have a friend to help you. After so often the burning top needs trimmed into a pie pan or cup of water. When your candler starts to get low enough to stop (so it doesn't burn you) take it out and unroll it to see all the gunk it pulled out of your ears. Of course your ears could be super-sensitive for a few days while adjusting to have no wax buildup; it sort of acts as a protectant covering.

PS-Sometimes it makes a whistling sound, and it definately smells bad!

  3. No I have not done it but I have done it for someone.  My greatest advice is to make sure that you have someone responsible help you.  Oh yah it does work for most people.  The only person I know it didnt help has already had some inner ear problems.

  4. actually, I was skeptical but my bf swears by it. I had trouble hearing in one ear so he talked me into trying it (instead of going to the doc to have it flushed) and it really did help.

  5. I've done ear candling for years and I love it! Yes, it really does work. Even my mother now uses ear candles when she's feeling like she has an earwax build-up.

You can buy ear candles in pretty much any health food store though, most places, they say that they're novelty items since the FDA and other government agencies frown on ear candles.

Make sure you get good directions on how to use them before you try and, if you feel ANY discomfort, stop using them. One time, I could feel it getting hot inside my ear but kept going. I wound up getting tiny blisters on my ear drum! But I did 6 candles per ear when I didn't need to use that many. Nowadays, I use one candle per ear about once a month.
