Question:

Ear infection? Strange crackling, fluids...?

Okay..earlier today, when I was listening with my ear phones in, it felt as if a fluid came out of my right ear. It was strange, but I just kind of shrugged it off.

Now, in my left ear, if I open my mouth I hear a faint crackling. I can pull on the little fleshy tab of my ear and hear very prominent crackling.

What's going on? I remember having an ear infection once that moved into my jaw, but I don't remember it being like this.

  1. Could be an ear infection or just water in your ear.  Try an over the counter  ear wax remover which has glycerin in it and if it doesn't improve in a day or so see your doctor for some antibiotics.

  2. You can start by taking some tylenol or advil and if you have any ear medicine in your house...follow the instructions and use it. If you have to go to Walmart or any drug store and get some. If you are running a fever then you have a real problem and need to see the doctors. Once you put the stuff in your ear...put a cotton ball in it for at least 1/2 to help keep the meds in.

  3. Try heating up so sweet oil or any other oil that you have and use a dropper to drop it into your ear.Hope this helps!!

  4. No guarantees, but it sounds like an ear infection. Go see an ENT to be sure.
