Ear infections......Are they contagious?

My daughter had a friend who was going to spend the night. They were together from Noon until the friend called her mom to come pick her up at 10 pm because her ear hurt her really bad.

Are ear aches contagious? My daughter is 9 and has never had one.

no i never heard of anyone catching one from anyone.

no, they are not, it is an infection from the inside, infections are not contagious.  but some things can cause an ear infection, or make people more suseptibale, such as a cold, which IS contagious.  so if someone is around someone with an ear infection, then gets one theirselves, it's a coincidence.
