Ear lobe piercing is swolen and hurts?

Three days ago i pierced my ears at claires. ive been cleaning it with the solution that they gave me 3 times a day. my left ear lobe is doing fine it doesnt hurt and isnt swollen, but my right ear lobe looks a bit swollen and because of the swelling the earing is very tight and it hurts.

should i change the earing into a hoop? should i leave it alone ? or is there something else that i can do to make it better? and how long should it take for the swelling to go down?

One more question.. since the earing is so tight can it reject ? im very scared of rejecting.

Help please ?

Btw.. the earing is stainless steal. i know for a fact that im not allergic to it because i have 6 other healed piercings and the matiral of the body jewlery is stainless steal.

  1. Try putting hydrogen peroxide on the hole. It could be infected. If you keep touching it then that probably would keep irratating it.Spin the earing around a few times and leave it alone for a while and it might go away.If its STILL swollen, take it out and let the hole heal and get it re-pierced when its healed.

    Good Luck !

  2. Clairs is a terrible place to get piercings.

They use peircing guns- which dont allow the needle to be properly sterilized .

It can also cause damage to the ear itself.

Never the less, piercings in general swell for the first initial week. They can vary in pain - although lobe piercings usually arn't too bad.

If it feels too tight, loosen it. Continue to clean the piercings 3 times a day. I would also recommend using a salt water solution (1tsp of salt in  moderate warm water) to bathe the piercing .

If you see any signs of severe infection - eg, puss or blood, take it out straight away and seek medical advice. If your lobes contiune to hurt over the next 2 weeks or so, i would recommend taking them out and letting them heal over , and then if you so wish, get them re-pierced at a good piercing studio.

  3. You more than likely have an infection.

  4. Go to your doctor immediately.  You probably have an infection.

  5. I hard my ears pierced and it hurt a little and went red but it is not supposed to be swollen so i recommend that you go to the doctors

    a.s.a.p

i dunno maybe the earring is reacting with youre ear but just go to the doctor before it hurts worse

  6. don't change the earrings, but turn the earring around gently a couple of times just in case the hole is getting smaller. Maybe loosen it a bit, too.

About the rejecting, i guess it is possible, that's why you should loosen it.

Also buy some hydrogen peroxide to put on your ear, it really opens up the hole in case it's getting too tight. If it doesn't get better, go see a doctor.

    Hope I helped! :]
