Ear stretching question?

i bought these 14 gauge tapers. and they are really thin and 1 inch in length. is it ok if i just keep them on like regular studs...and not use them for stratching?

  1. If they're 14 at the thickest point and you are wearing your ear around them at that point, then you have stretched your piercings.

    Usually tapers are incredibly inconvenient to wear in daily life. Often they get bumped, snagged, knocked out while you're sleeping and otherwise cause trouble. Since yours are so short, you may not have these problems.

    Keep in mind that a 14 gauge piercing will need more cleaning than just a regular earring does. The skin of the inside of your piercing is going to be pressed up against the surface of your jewelry, so it is going to get dead skin cells and oils trapped. This is what creates the famous "ear funk" that people complain about. You can solve this issue by removing your jewelry in the shower and giving it and your piercings a good washing.
