Earache Help please?!?

I just got rid of swimmers ear in my right ear Saturday, today is Wednesday and my left ear hurts! I went to the docter yesterday and she said that there was no way of finding out if it was infected or swimmers ear because it was so swollen she couldn't see. She gave me a perscription for swimmers ear and said that if that didn't work come back and she will give me a perscrition for an ear infection medicine. I can see clearly in the mirror that my ear is red. But the swelling has gone down. It's so painful though I have no idea what to do. I've taken all I can take of Advil and it wears off before I can take more! Any ideas on what it might be,and how to help the pain. Thank you so much for those of you that help!

  1. Heating pad?   Also if your a person who gets swimmers ear do NOT clean your ears with a qtip.  You can put a couple of drops of baby oil in each ear before you go swimming to keep the protective coating on the ear drum.

  2. Use a hot water bottle or heating pad to lay your ear on or hold up to it. Also, a hairdryer works well for temporary relief.

TAKE VITAMIN C PILLS! It will rapidly speed up the healing as it kills bacteria. Garlic does also, eat lots of it.

Good luck to you, I know it hurts really bad. :-(
