earl is #1 shotmaker in the world, but efren is a close 2nd, reason you see earl having to make many hard shots, is he suffers a little on position speed, which efren is dominate on that, because earls stroke doesnt allow shots to be made, which efren can pull off because of his soft(slip stroke) efren, being able to use alot less force on the cuebball, allows him 2 get into tighter position shots, than earl. which efren might be able to hold the cueball in a tight enough spot 4 his next shot, as earl, might have to go an extra rail or two, to get the same position for the next shot. i love em both, would absolutelly love to see a color of money 2 match!! i have watched the race to 120 fully at least 25 to 30 times. the announcer mark wilson lives very near me, and has a small pool hall, right east of st. louis arch in illinois. we need to get a website ot petition started to show support on how much everyone would love to see color of money 2 match race to 120 between efren n earl again! if i had the money i'd put it up like the last guy did from ridgeways bar n grill n hong kong did. i believe i read somewhere that he died? he  appeared  very coked up in during the match? but it was soo close, i think they need another. in my opinion? if someone wants to start a petition, on a site going, let me know, i will also talk to mark to see what it will take from us?     i meant another race to 120 as color of money 2, not counting the 3 races to 11, they need race to 120 again.  efren in my mind is the best player living or dead ever! would love to see earl get his life together, and get back where he was!

bone696, they had a color of money 2, in 2001. Efren won that one as well.

I know Efren is currently far out of reach for Earl. Years ago Earl was amazing, but as of late his game has deteriorated along with his apparent mental health.

I don't think to many people question Earls talent or his pure stroke, but what makes a player great is the ability to put it all together when it counts, and noone can match Efren at that.

The equation is simple.  Earl is slightly better in shot-making though it is a close call and Efren could be better at any other time.  Breaking? I'd give that to Strickland also since that part of the game happens to be Reyes' only weakness.  But in all other aspects of the game - positioning, safety and kick shots, cue ball control, craftsmanship on the table and mastery of the game - Reyes is just a cut above the rest.  Even Earl is scared of the Magician and has so much respect for the guy than any other pool player.  So, Reyes is it - the greatest of all time!

erfren would beat earl's brains in on any given day now. earl has no will to compete anymore. and he is in the middle of a complete mental breakdown, he lives in greenville,sc at the moment and plays very rarely. his game has went way donw hill in the last 4-5 years
