Early Christmas present for Sunderland fan’s against Bolton.
Men in red and white gave their early Christmas present to their fans. Sunderland beat Bolton by 1-0 at the Stadium of Light. Sunderland with 24 points started their match against Bolton, placed sixth in the league table and after the win, grabbed sixth
position while Bolton slipped to seventh. It was a crucial match for both the teams as they eye for European qualification. On loan striker from Manchester United, Danny Welbeck was in perfect position for a diving header that earned them a goal and three
vital points.
Sunderland started with the inform duo; http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358 and Asamoah Gyan. With three main defenders missing the game, it was always going to be tough for Bolton to match Sunderland's pace. The match, as expected, was fast paced with both teams attacking and
looking for an early goal. Early in the first half Kieran Richardson for Sunderland tried his luck from some distance as he struck the ball fiercely, but it went sailing over the top of the bar.
Soon after that, referee awarded Sunderland with a free kick outside the box. Four Sunderland players lined up for the free kick but in the end it was Asamoah Gyan who took a shot and managed to hit the wall. Bolton meanwhile kept on attacking on the counters,
trying to catch Sunderland off-guard. Sunderland were strong in their defence though and kept on blocking whatever came their way.
For Sunderland, Asamoah  Gyan penetrated through the defence line of Bolton but was given off side. Sunderland kept on attacking with purpose but just could not find their opening goal. With their continuous attacking, Darren Bent got a chance to score in
the box but he fired the shot over the bar as he sighed in disappointment. Bolton were equal to the task as Muamba missed the target with his header on a cross from the right wing.

scored the opening goal. The initial shot by Darren Bent was blocked by the keeper but only as far as Welbeck who hit a diving header into the goal. Sunderland scored their first and only goal of the match in 31stminute of the first half.
