Early exit for Misbun Ramdan in Yonex Dutch International 2012 – Badminton News
The talented shuttler Misbun Ramdan Misbun of Malaysia had to face an early exit from the Yonex Dutch International as he got pale in front of Andre Kurniawan Tedjono in the first round match on April 13, 2012.
The young Misbun Ramdan surrendered after reading final figures of 11-21, 21-12 and 14-21 at the end of their 50-minute tussle.
The Indonesian dominated in most part of the match and outclassed his lower ranked opponent in all areas of the game.
In opening set of the match, Andre Kurniawan unleashed his brilliant skills and bagged first match point in a convincing manner. He established a comfortable lead in first half of the game with an 8-1 score on the board.
Both shuttlers stepped forward continuously and Misbun managed to cover the gap to some extent by scoring 11 points in later half but the Indonesian put his expedition to halt and finished this race with a favourable margin of 21-11.
The following game was a replay of first one but obviously in reverse manner as the Malaysian youngster stormed back in the match by clinching second match point.
Initially, Andre Kurniawan was leading with 5-2 score position but Misbun caught him at 6-6 points. Both contenders stayed close at scoreboard with 9-8 until the mid-game break.
After one-minute break the Malaysian accelerated his pace and established a decent six-point lead. His rival never came out of this huge deficit and kept trailing behind him until game point position.
Misbun Ramdan equalled the balance of match by registering a decisive 21-12 score on the board.
The decider turned crucial as both contenders were trying to avoid a woeful exit after 1-1 match score position, thus the third set was supposed to be a nerve-racking tussle.
Both competitors matched each other’s skills in the beginning as they remained close until 6-6 points in score log but the Indonesian picked up his speed and managed to establish an unassailable lead with 10-6 score position.
At this position, Misbun Ramdan tried to catch him by scoring two consecutive points but he could not go with same flow and kept trailing behind his challenger throughout the decider.
Fifth seeded player of the event, Andre Kurniawan ensured his presence in second round with a significant margin of 21-12.
