Early morning flight?

ok so im going on vacation in 2 weeks down south. now our flight leaves from torontos pearson airport at 6:20am. im just wondering what you did if you have ever had a early flight like that? also we have to drive an hour to the airport and they say to be there a minimum of 2 hours before departure so we would have to be up at like 2am and leave by 3am which is insane. what should we do?

I'm going on a missions trip to guatemala next week and our plane leaves at 6:00 am and it takes us 4 hours to drive to the airport and our plan is to leave at midnight and go from there. Bad thing is I have to drive my truck so I can haul everyones suitcase in my truck and so im not going to sleep until I get there at around 1:00om. We would rent a hotel but that would put a dent in our funds. We are going to an orphanage and we cook out for them and do vbs so we need the money for that. I have never flown before that was never in the middle of the afternoon or around 8 or 9.

Last thing you want to do is miss your flight and have to re-book.  If you are leaving your vehicle at the airport sometimes it is just as cheap to stay at a hotel the night before if they let you leave your car in their parking lot while your gone instead of paying to park at the airport.  Either way you booked an early flight so everything has to happen earlier.

Just leave at 3am. Its no big deal. Go to bed a bit earlier than normal to make up for the lost sleep. Also, sleep on the plane a little. Pretty stupid question really. Isn't it just common sense?

Bring your Starbucks for the drive!

Then buy some more while at the airport!

Coffee goes a long way!

And call your hotel and see if the have a freshen up room, if your room is not available when you arrive!

The clear solution here is to reschedule your entire vacation and reschedule your flight during day time, simple.

Rent a room close to the airport the night before if you don't want to get up that early.

Just think about how well you will be able to sleep on the flight.  It will seem like it took no time.  Are you serious?  Don't go if that is your biggest problem.

yeah, I would stay at a cheapie motel/hotel close to airport, they will probably give you at least a few days of free parking, and a shuttle bus so you can snooze until they dump you out at the terminal!  brutal timing, my sympathies

I have gotten there about an hour before and had no problems (but my airports are closer)
