Early this morning 6th Aug 2008 I heard several rumbles follow by a bang as if being hit by a truck.

I am in Catral in Southeastern Spain. Were these earth tremors?

It was probably just an echo from the Hiroshima bombing of 63 years ago.

I haven't heard of anything on the news. Was it storming? It could have been a really bad thunderstorm. We are having one right now with lots of lightning and thunder but no rain yet.

Earth tremors - quake (3.5)

I found a forum that takes place in Spain and there were a few people discussing the earthquake (earth tremors) around La Marina Urb. There was link so I clicked on it but it was in Spanish but I do know it was about the earthquake.

yes we heard them too, four in fact but other people report seven. if you look at past history you will discover that they are common this time of year in spain. in madrid last year it measured 5.1, the year before people left their homes in Lorca. It was scary here - quite loud.
