Earning money as a band?

Hey. I'm in band and we need to raise money to record our stuff. We play rock music (not indie. Maybe somewhere close to metal?) and have no idea where to start. We are all 16 and are looking to play around the London Essex area. Can we do this? What is the best way to go about getting hold of a bit of money.

We arn't looking for loads of money, and are willing to play cheaply. We would just like to be able to cut the costs of recording a little.

Anyone with tips, i would really appreciate your contribution. I would really love it if someone could post specific help or venues.

find some place and ask them if they need or want some live music don't ask big fancy clubs they want big bands . by the way what music do you play i would love to hear some!
