Today, March 29, 2008, hundreds of cities across North America and around the world will be participating in Earth Hour. From eight PM in your local time, shut off your lights for ONE hour! Take a minute and check out their website at: http://www.earthhour.org

The main video is on their front page or you can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_c5K7Jdw...ourus.org/

How did this start?

Quote:

It started with a question: How can we inspire people to take action on climate change?

The answer: Ask the people of Sydney to turn off their lights for one hour.

On 31 March 2007, 2.2 million people and 2100 Sydney businessesturned off their lights for one hour - Earth Hour. If the greenhousereduction achieved in the Sydney CBD during Earth Hour was sustainedfor a year, it would be equivalent to taking 48,616 cars off the roadfor a year.

Hey.. It's one hour, it'll make a difference. Think what you can do. You can be a part of something larger! You can actually make a difference tonight! We may all be one person, but together, we can do so much..

Here's an amazing, inspiring video by them also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9GRh_9sQ....org/about

I just want to add that just Sydney, Austrailia last year.. ONE city doing this.. 10.2% energy reduction, that's an equivalent of taking 48,000 cars off the road. This year.. Hundreds of cities! The effect will be amazing.
