Dear Yahoo, why in the h**l does scientist keep sayin all living creatures roam the earth millions of years ago when they dont even know how long all living creatures walk on this earth did they walk on this millions of years ago like them scientist be sayin or thousand of years ago.....YOUR PAL JERRY

Ask a scientist, but understand everything they say is really just theory and nothing else, nobody really knows why things are the way they are.

Throughout the life of any animal, be it dinosaur or human, radioactive carbon (called Carbon 14) is continually being absorbed through eating.  When the animal dies, the carbon 14 starts decaying at a fixed rate.  By measuring the amount of C14 from the dinosaurs being dug up and doing some math, scientists determined that millions of years ago animals existed.

Scientist do not say that all living creatures roamed this earth millions of years ago.  Scientist avoid saying that they know anything for certain.  They propose theories which are attempts to explain natural events or answer questions.

because they have to have some kind of theory to support their views. but the earth is only about 6,000 to 10,000 years old. It was created by God and He created all creatures in that week. scientists don't want to have to submit to a higher authority, so they make up theories that are completely false. and they know that they're wrong, thats why so many end up converting to Christianity when they do more research.

People can tell how old a rock is because there is a certain amount of radiation that can be detected and this tells us how old it is.  Particles have a rate that they decay and form new particles and the amount of the original particle left will tell how old it is.

Sometimes in these super old rocks that are millions of years old there are remains of things alive.  How did a living creature wedge itself 1000 years ago into a solid miles-thick million year-old rock?  And how did this happen the millions of times fossils have been found?
