  1. Good question

  2. If the earth really had a flat surface, then we would be driving further from the center of the earth every way we went. In other words, that would be up hill.

But the earth is round. That means that the earth's surface is always the same distance from the center of the earth, which is the earth's center of mass. Therefore the gravitational pull is exactly perpendicular to your car when you are on a flat surface. If you are not working against or with the force of gravity, then you are not driving uphill or downhill.

This of course is all assuming there are no minor variations in topography called hills and valleys, which equal each other out.

  3. Because round does not mean flat.

  4. You sir are a r****d. The earth is flat like a pancake.

  5. Neither. It doesn't matter.

  6. We are always driving at the same distance from the center of the earth unless we are driving uphill and we are moving away or driving downhill and getting closer.

  7. haha...possibly=)
