Question:

Earwig in my washing machine?

Okay, I know this sounds a tad pathetic, but as I was about to do laundry, I found an earwig in my washing machine. After several failed attempts to get it out, I decided to run the wash with just water in hopes of having it float to the top where I could scoop it out, but it never came up.

The laundry cycle ended, but I'm afraid I might have a dead earwig stuck under the center part that would end up in my next load of laundry,

is it more likely that it was drained out with all the water?

eck yeah, I know, I sound pathetic.

I just really hate bugs,

and I'd really hate putting on a shirt or pants

to find a bug in it.

  1. It is virtually impossible for the bug to be stuck somwhere and resurface later in a clean load of laundry. So .. be BRAVE .. stick your hand in there and pull out that clean laundry .. the dryer is waiting for you!

  2. At least it is only a itty bitty earwig...I had a mouse fall in mine and it drowned and it got stuck in the water pump...GROSS! I can tell you! That'll teach me for leaving the lid open when I did a soak and then wash.

The earwig probably got sucked through the pump and out with the excess water.

  3. not to worry continue washing if the hot water dont get them the detergent will, check your outlet pipes if they are okay,i just dont know how they got to your front loader. unless someone in your family brought in one in her/his laundry.
