Ease of work?

I'll be going to Sydney for 3 months over the winter (from june), I'll be volunteering for the biennale but will need a part time job too. Does anybody know how easy it is to get say a bar job or day job in a shop (providing I have the right certificates) for a traveller with no experience?

I'm fussy when choosing jobs because I want the experience to help me through Uni, but are there many jobs for travellers?

  1. Okkies if you have bar experience you can basically get a job anywhere. I used to do bar work while travelling and uni. You may have to put your walking shoes on and go from bar to bar with a resume and sell yourself but i would say put a hard days work in and you should get a job if not in the first 2 days definitly within a week. But you gotta really want it and show the employer that.

And when travelling don't be fussy, it's a bad move and may make you loose money and awsome travel stories because of lack of funds. Be fussy later on in life when you can afford to be.

By the way just check out hospitality agencies. They take on people all the time and you get to work at all different bars and clubs and they always have work if your good.

  2. check out TNT magazine. You can get a copy at your local newsagent, it has a list of jobs available.
