Easiest/cheapest way to get to O'Connell St from Dublin Airport?

I am going to Dublin in a few weeks time, and my flight doesn't land in Dublin until 11pm. I am staying in a hotel just off O'Connell Street. Could anyone advise me on the best way to get there? Will there be any public transport still running at that time?

  1. get the bus. Link attached, last bus is usually around 11.30.  The 747 and 728 go down O'Connell Street, but a taxi should be about €20 - €25,

  2. Haha, walking may be the cheapest, bus it's a long way. I go to Dublin frequently, and I find the best service is the city link shuttle bus. This goes from the airport and serves O'connell street as well as the central bus station on Aimens Street (5 mins walk from O'Connell) It runs from 5am until midnight so landing at 11pm will not be an issue. The cost, last time I was there was 8 Euro, thats about £5. The drivers are usually most helpful, and if you tell them the name of your hotel, they'll give you a shout when you're at the nearest stop.

  3. The air coach

    Its a big blue bus

  4. walking

  5. If you can't get the Airlink (747 or 748) you can get the Aircoach. It's more expensive but not as expensive as a taxi.

  6. If you get through luggage collection quickly you may be in time to get public transport which finishes at 11.30 weekdays and 23.15 on Sunday. The local route bus no. 41 may be 5 or 10 mins later, as it leaves from Swords, just north of the Airport at 11.30. This would be the cheapest option as it costs €2 and will leave you in Lwr. Abbey Street which is just off O'Connell Street. The last bus on the other local €2 route no. 16A going to O'Connell Street leaves at 11.10

The Airlink bus, 747, costs €6 and will bring you to O'Connell Street.

Aircoach which is a private service leaves the airport every 20 minutes between 20.10 - 00.30hrs and then at 00.30, 01.30, 02.30, 03.30, and 04.30. This costs €7.

  7. its going to be tight.  the last bus on weekdays is Number 747, just outside the arrivals terminal leaving at 23.30 pm.

On sunday it leaves at 23.10 pm

Fare into O'Connell is 5 euro.

A taxi may be your only option. Expect to pay up to 30 euro.

  8. There probably will be late buses going straight from the airport to O'Connell St, but not very frequent. Check this out: http://www.dublinbus.ie/your_journey/air...

  9. try iarnrodeireann.ie (train)

         busarus.ie (bus)

you should be able to get time table on there running from the airport .

  10. you will be able to get the airlink bus they run until 11.45 and will leave you right on o'connell street plus it will only cost ya €7.
