Easiest way to spray paint a bike?

I have spray painted bikes, and know several others who have too.  It always looks good in the beginning, but it doesn't hold up.

The pros use automotive quality paints that dry real hard.

Last time I re finished a bike, I took all the parts off, had it blasted, and powder coated.  An industrial job shop did it for me for 50 bucks.

Don't - it'll look sad,  trust me.  Rattle can paint does not harden enough to use for a bike frame, it'll almost always be tacky to the touch and mark up VERY easily!

take bike completely apart

Sand to bare metal

a few coats of primer

many coats of base color

a few coats of clear

put bike back together
