  1. ^^ is correct.  $1 US dollar is usually equal to around 2.7EC.

  2. Well the Eastern Caribbean (EC$) dollar is fixed ("tied") to the US dollar.  It is at a constant of US$1 = EC$2.70.  Banks will take some change for doing the conversion in the street you'll likely get the rate of exchange.

To break this downit takes $2.70 of EC currency to equal the strength of mere single US dollar.

And in reverse if you have a mere US$0.37 that will buy you one single EC dollar...

    US$0.37 = EC$1

    US$1 = EC$2.70

    Reason being, 1 divided by 2.70 = 0.37

The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank was established in October 1983. It is the Monetary Authority for a group of eight island economies namely - Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Also Barbados, Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago also used to be a part of that union before they broke off and formed their own currencies. And prior to that, much of the Caribbean was under the BWI ("Beewee" or British-West Indies) dollar....
