East Of Tara expected to win Dundalk Handicap
East Of Tara is expected to make a big impact at Dundalk racecourse where she is going to run in Fundraising Made Easy At Dundalk Handicap on Wednesday, April 11.
The high-stakes race over a distance of 1 mile will commence at 7:50 (GMT). For the prize money worth €6,900, the J. S. Bolger-trained bay mare looks to be in an offensive mood to browbeat her a dozen of rivals including Barrow Island, Rocky´s Pride, Karjera,
Mamma Rosa, Gaiety Theatre, Knockgraffon Lad, Maundy Money, Boom To Bust, Moonbi Creek, Madeira Man, Truly Genius and Fog Cutter.
East Of Tara has been enjoying great form since the very beginning of her career. The maverick mare staged his debut in September 2009. Her maiden victory came on May 12, 2011.
After breaking her maiden, the veteran runner went on to perform well in the subsequent outings, gaining good ranks in some races till the end of the year.
The brilliant mare extended her momentum to 2012 as well and bagged a couple of consecutive victories.
After winning Ladbrokes.Com – Where Real Fans Get Rewarded Handicap on February 24, she finished first in Irish News The Last Line Handicap on March 23. Both these races took place at Dundalk track.
The talented sprinter elegantly clinched a runner-up position in her last outing on March 29. Thus, she is carrying a lot of confidence which will help her thrive in the Handicap. The mare’s chances to finish first are as high as 95 percent.
However, two of the hot favourite mare’s competitors like Rocky’s Pride and Knockgraffon Lad can give her rather tough time.
Rocky’s Pride won two races in a row during February 2012. After finishing 4th in a contest on February 24, the Garvan Donnelly-trained bay gelding went on to grab two consecutive runner-up ranks in March.
On the other hand, Knockgraffon Lad accomplished a fabulous hat-trick in December 2011. M. J. Byrne’s bay gelding elegantly clinched a runner-up position in another race during the same month. He moved forward to finish 4th and 8th
in the two subsequent starts.
Though East of Tara looks to be strong enough but there will be a tough tug of war for the Handicap title. The favourite mare will have to pass through fire and blood in order to win. Good luck to her.
