Easter Diva seeking maiden success in Freebets.co.uk Handicap at Lingfield
Easter Diva is not enjoying the best of draws at Lingfield, where she is due to appear in the Freebets.co.uk Handicap on Thursday, November 08, 2012. Yet, the bettors should keep an eye on her. In a very competitive contest, she is likely to stay ahead of
the big guns like Aegaeus and Sigurwana.
A 3lb rise is very fair for her wonderful act last time. The daughter of Dansili made a couple of terrible outings early in the year. After a break of more than four months, she returned to action under the care of new trainer, Gerard Butler. On her latest
start, she performed magnificently, nothing up the second place behind Chatterer.
The audience at Wolverhampton saw her make excellent progress after an early mess. She ran on to go second inside the final furlong, but could not reach the winner, missing the crown only by half a length. A decent act on comeback must have boosted up her
confidence.
Owned by Kevin Quinn, the 3-year-old is in better momentum and therefore, one can easily pin up hopes on her. A line-up of 11 rivals is waiting for her. On standard to slow one mile and two furlongs, the contestants will start pursuing £2,386 at 14:10 GMT.
Aegaeus is a talented runner, but untried on Polytrack. In the hands of Graham Lee, Ed Dunlop’s charge will make things really tough for the opposition. But meanwhile, it is going to be interesting how he settles down in these conditions.
Off a fair mark, Sigurwana can stay this far, but has a bad draw to overcome. The 3-year-old is coming off a few brilliant acts. After registering a splendid win at Newcastle, the William Haggas-trained carried forward the good momentum, and captured the
second place at Wolverhampton last time.
With cheekpieces, Miss Blakeney is aiming to bring more glory to Marcus Tregoning’s yard, which is doing well with 3-year-old handicappers in 2012. Berwin is consistent enough, but has struggled to defy mark since handicapping.
Things are surely hectic, but Easter Diva is good enough to tackle these. She just needs to give her one hundred percent in order to make an impression. Good luck to all.
